PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:
As we reach the halfway point in our year at OSA, I look back and think of the many people to thank for our successes. Because space is limited, I can't mention everyone at this time. Let me generally thank the people who prepare for and hang the gallery; the crew who put the Rose Art Show together; those who prepare and serve refreshments for our receptions and meetings; those who arrange demos; our fine group of teachers; and Phil Jarvis who has provided music for receptions. Thanks to you all and all others who have helped make this a successful and joyful year.

DAY MEETING:
Thursday, July 11 - Doors open at 10:00am,meeting at 11:00am. Guest artist Sonja Donnelly Is an artist who uses many media in painting women's faces. She lives in Lake Oswego and is one of the artists featured in the L.O. Arts Chronicle this year.

NIGHT MEETING:
Thursday,July 18 - Meeting at 8:00 pm - Doors open at 6:00 pm. Guest artist Nancy Tongue of Lake Oswego specializes in painting florals and landscapes in oil in an impressionist style. Her demo will show how she approaches her painting and she will also use slides to show how she does it.

THE CRITIQUE GROUP:
6:30PM prior to the Thursday night meeting. Everyone invited. Active and associate members: bring one to three paintings and participate or just come to watch, listen, learn, and enjoy.

GALLERY EXHIBITS:
Open 1 pm to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. No admission fee.

Our July Gallery Show is open to any subject, any medium and this year will include associate as well as active members. The show opens with an artists' reception on Sunday June 30, 1pm to 4pm. The following artists will show their work:

Shirley Benz, Vicki Cole, Marti Dawkins, Virginia Jones, Jack Miller,
Richard Rumble, Louise Weyss, Kay Vanderhout, Susan Kingsett, and George Corniel.

COMING UP IN THE GALLERY:
The July show will be open to all members, Active and Associate. Any subject, any medium. Show will open with an artists' reception 1-4PM on Sunday, June 30 and close Friday, August 2. Bring artwork to the gallery on Saturday, June 29. A sign-up sheet is now posted on the studio bulletin board. Questions? - Call Jane Sayler 503-452-9366.

Our annual Black and White show opens Sunday August 4 and closes Friday, September 6. A sign-up sheet is posted on the studio bulletin board.

Our annual Oil Show--any subject, oils only--opens Sunday, September 8 and closes Friday, October 4.

ANNUAL OUTDOOR SALE IS COMING UP
OSA's Outdoor Sale will take place Saturday, August 24, 10am to 3pm. Open to all members, you must set up your area and sell your own art. Framed, shrink wrapped and loose painting, prints, cards, photography are all okay (two dimensional only, a sign-up sheet is posted on the studio bulletin board). "THE SEVENTY-FIVE CLUB"
In order to raise $50,000 to maintain and improve the OSA building and grounds "The Seventy-Five Club" will launch a campaign to recruit all current and former members to make a contribution or pledge of $75 or more during this Seventy-Fifth Anniversary Year. Each member of the club will receive a certificate, a lapel pin, and their names will be included in a large donor plaque displayed at OSA. This campaign received unanimous approval by the Board, at the April 11 meeting.

In Memory of Norma Whitelaw Pratt
Norma Whitelaw Pratt died on Saturday May 11 at the age of 111. Norma joined OSA in 1969. She was an accomplished painter and taught classes for many years, painting into her nineties. Her painting "Clam Diggers" is part of OSA' permanent collection.
