OSA Membership
About Our OrganizationOSA was founded in 1927 by a group of dedicated artists who banded together to support each other in the study of the visual arts. Our founders were some of the most illustrious artists of Portland. They worked to establish a society to foster mutual respect for one another and their art.MeetingsGeneral meetings for all members are held twice a month. The First Thursday meeting is a Critique at 6 pm and a Demo at 7 pm, proceeded by brief general society announcements. The Second Thursday meeting is a Demo at 11 am, light luncheon at 12, and Board of Directors meeting at 1 pm.NewsletterYour copy of the Brushmarks, OSA's newsletter, will be emailed to you each month. Special events and activities are held throughout the year and will be posted in the newsletter and on the website. Please keep the office staff informed of changes in your name or address.ClassesOSA offers classes and workshops in a variety of media. The Brushmarks will have the schedule and registration information.Gallery ShowsAs an Associate Member you will be invited to exhibit your artwork several times a year. Checks should be made out to the Oregon Society of Artists and directed to the OSA Treasurer.VolunteeringOSA is a non-profit, self-supporting organization. We are proud to own our facility free and clear, thanks to the generosity and hard work of OSA members since 1927! The bulk of the "housekeeping", "yard work" and repairs are done by volunteers. Committees, and Board of Directors keep the organization running smoothly. Everyone is expected to pitch in.Officers, Board of Directors, CommitteesA complete list of current OSA Officers, Board Members, and Committee Chairs can be found in the Brushmarks, and on the Board of Directors page.
