Interpretive Oil and Acrylic Painting - Learn the Language of Color!

$175 for 2 days of instruction - February 17th and 18th
Michael Linstrom, a popular instructor at OSA, will return to lead another workshop . We had a great workshop last time - there was a lot of high energy aswe all learned many new ways to work with color.

California colorists Anna Lee Steed and Michael Linstrom will teach the principles
of color composition through the use of colorful underpaintings. Learn to combine
harmonious color with beautiful color vibration. Learn how to evaluate a painting and
how to assess your own work. As a special bonus, see a documentary on Abstract
Expressionist, Hans Hoffman who influenced a whole generation of abstract painting
in America. Painting demos, discussions and plenty of time for students to paint.
Participants may paint representationally or abstractly.

Instructors may be contacted at 831-662-8979 with questions. Visit their
website at www.linstromart.com. Please contact Workshop Coordinator, Dorothy Fitzgerald at 360-896-0734 to register.

Painting and Developing Your Personal Vision /

February 24, 25 & 26, 9am - 5pm         $450 Limited to 14 participants

An award winning Oil Painter and Illustrator for the last 33 years, C. Michael Dudash has produced a large body of work for hundreds of clients and galleries. Beyond learning the basic technical skills of drawing and painting, every artist works toward expressing or communicating a personal vision. We will examine and study the variety of approaches and techniques with oil paint that are available to the more advanced and serious painter. Whether painting a landscape, still life, or illustration, this workshop is structured to improve your ability to make better artistic decisions in the areas of design, subject priority and choice, edges, color and brushwork. Each day, a painting demonstration in the morning will be given by the instructor working from a live model, a still life, or a photograph. The use of oil washes, opaque alla prima, glazing methods, palette knifes and different brush techniques will be explored. Students will paint each day from set-ups provided, or may bring in their personal paintings to work on. Each student will have the opportunity to work with the instructor in regard to their own work and personal vision. Geared toward the experienced and advanced artist and painter, anyone is welcome to attend. Michael works in oil, but you may work in any medium.
