Classes

To participate in OSA classes, you must be an OSA Member and be current on Annual Dues of $60 per year. Under 18 no membership required.

Daytime classes are usually 3-hour periods unless otherwise noted, and are held in our studios at OSA. Parking is available, adjacent to the building.

Drying racks are available for students to leave their paintings while they are working on them. This is a tremendous help when transporting larger or wet paintings. We usually have room to store your still life objects as well.

As well as quality instruction from experienced artists, we offer members the opportunity to show their work in our gallery. For exhibit schedules and guidelines, see our Gallery Events page.

This class is perfect for those who want to try pastels, as well as those who have some experience and want to take their art to the next level. There will be demos showing different approaches and the opportunity to ‘paint along’ with Susan, working on a pastel painting from start to finish, allowing you to see all the stages. Multimedia: All Levels - Ages 13 and up

Multimedia Painting - Susan Kuznitsky

This class is open to beginners who want to learn drawing skills in charcoal or try a new medium – pastels, oils, or acrylics. It is also open to students who have experience in any of these mediums and want to take their work to the next level. There will be loads of individual instruction to guide you from wherever you are currently to help you reach your personal artistic goals. We will work from still-life set ups and from photo references. There will also be an option to ‘paint along’ from the same photo as Susan in a step by step approach. Supply list upon registration.

Draw From Life

Open to the public, OSA membership not required  This non-instructional, per session life drawing session is an opportunity to draw inspiration from the area’s most talented professional artist models amongst a welcoming and engaging environment; beginners as well as seasoned artists are all welcome. Open to artists of all mediums— OSA provides the easels, chairs, drawing benches and boards.

The session begins at 2pm and ends at 5pm. This session is designed and facilitated by Lauryn — a local artist, artists' model, facilitator and photographer who aims to provide variety and inspiration through diversity in models, poses, set design and lighting elements amongst a relaxed but structured session.

Doors open 15 minutes before each session.
